“Upon our generation has fallen the great honour and grace of restoring the culture of our forebears, to bind up the torn threads that have remained, linking us with them. Only then will great discoveries begin to take place among mankind. Only then will their thoughts be able to help ours. For now, their thoughts — in view of our lack of understanding — feel constrained to withstand us”.
A Culture with Curiosity
A larger conversation between Anastasia and Vladimir about mankind’s current situation lead to the life-giving thought above. It also exemplifies a process that may reveal a “superpower” within all of us.
The feelings that mask the constant stream of human circumstances show us the lightness and/or darkness within us. We are free to choose which to listen to, though it may not be easy to switch from one to another.
Vladimir struggled with unpleasant feelings as he assessed our responsibility for apologizing to our ancestors for the current state of the world. Anastasia said just prior to this quote, “It would be better if a different thought came to mind,” and then made the above suggestion.
What a wonderful process she applies — that is, the process of curiosity and questions. It is one that we may apply to any circumstance when we catch ourselves allowing unpleasant feelings to radiate!
Let’s Be Curious & Ask Questions
Are there circumstances in your life where you might ask yourself, “Would it be better if a different thought came to my mind?”
This might lead you to ask yourself, “A different thought? What kind?” (just like Vladimir did).
What different thought could come to your mind?
Let this stream of thought take you in any direction that feels more pleasant.
There are studies and books widely available about how Curiosity is a Superpower and the benefits that may come with it. Is it possible that our ancestors, like Anastasia (and children nowadays), were highly attuned to their curiosity and intentionally used it?
Are we restoring vital torn shreds from their culture and opening up to their thoughts? Are we providing ourselves with incredible benefits by becoming more attuned to it?
What do you think?
