Refugee from modern life, I moved to rural Portugal in 2014, restored three stone-built agricultural workers houses on a 2.5Ha farm, off-grid with the exception of telecommunications. My teenage daughter joined me here two years ago and is now bi-lingual.
Straight-edge, drug, alcohol, nicotine, tattoo, piercings, jab free. In fact after Covid I have consciously avoided and distanced myself from the jabbed. Love music, books, photography, visual arts. Spent a few years on the cushion in various Schools but no active spiritual activities now. Skills - information maven. Archery. Enthusiasm when the project deserves it. Self starter. I am good at lowering styli onto vinyl records so that it doesn't bounce and can identify most Beatles songs within the first 3 or 4 minutes.
Not politically active, I am deeply cautious with regards to joining in, with causes, groups, slogans, enthusiasms, these change like the wind, political and social movements are paid for by taxes, infiltrated by alphabet agencies and the only thing the world isn't short of is more -isms with the attendant in-group and out-group psychology that makes the in's feel better about themselves. Skeptical, critical, information and evidence based.

I remember walking in Scotland and drinking from a sparkling brook, it was quick moving bright water. After resting I walked upstream for about a kilometre where I came across a large male deer, dead, in the water, with it’s belly bloated and full of flies. Eventually all that was the deer would be washing down in this brook. I was fine but did wonder about all that we cannot see in water.
