  • Cob Building

Posted by Sarah on May 6, 2025 at 8:38 pm

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to share something that I’m super passionate about: Building Cob Homes! Last November I went down to El Salvador and took a workshop to learn how to build a house with natural materials. I wrote a blog about it here: https://myhomesteadingadventure.wordpress.com/

Then I came home and helped a friend organize and and construct a Pallet Cob Casita on her land in Cornville, AZ. Now I’m fixing to teach homesteaders how to build with Cob.

That’s amazing. I love working with clay. I did a little with cob, but mostly I work with wattle and daub (applying cob to a skeletal framework). There are many interesting techniques! And not only is it non-toxic, it’s actually positively healthy

That’s right Matt, it’s totally non-toxic, that’s one of my very favorite things about it! I’ve been doing pallet cob, using pallets as the wattle and daub framework, insulating them and cobbing over them! It’s super effecient
