Book One and Two
Hello fellow readers,
I’m currently part way through book two. I’ve only recently discovered the books and I’m so eager to discuss them with people. I’d love to discuss with people in person but I also really appreciate being able to connect to readers internationally through this platform.
The things that really impacted me from the first book was Anastasia’s relationship to nature and her power as well as her humanity. I was laughing because a few years ago I spent six rather unhappy months working at Verizon and my boss in a light hearted manner made fun of me when he found out I ate grass. The part in the book where the author is shocked at her picking grass and leaves and eating them made me chuckle. I remember thinking while working there I need to be outside, not in this box full of bright neon lights and electronics. I soon after went to go work for a plant nursery and started a deeply healing journey of my soul and body.
I read the first book and felt a deep sigh of my soul. It was like permission to live in a way that I knew was possible but didn’t have words for nor any examples of.
This second book I’m so touched by. I love the story of the cherry tree. I speak to my plants often and at times feel like I get messages from them.
I just finished the chapter about the sword of the Bard and feel an ache for something beyond words. The image of the mother singing to her baby amidst the chaos until the final moments when she herself picked up the sword to protect her daughter is deeply moving for me.
