Tennessee Regional Ambassador Ruth DeVors invites Ringing Cedars readers to a weekend campout at Big Ridge State Park — three days of outdoor connection under the stars.
A weekend of outdoor connection with other Ringing Cedars readers. Come Friday afternoon, stay ’til midday Sunday! Bringing and sharing of crafts is encouraged.

What to Bring & Know Before You Come
- Your own tent (or RV), camping gear, swimming and hiking attire, and food
- Crafts to share, if you’d like
- The group is at campsites #3, #4, and #5
- Extra cars may need to use the main parking area after unloading
- Ruth is graciously asking a donation of $30 per person to help cover campsite fees

Additional Details from Ruth
For those who’d like to just come to an afternoon meetup we’ll be meeting at Shelter #1 at the park on Saturday, August 15th from 1 – 4pm EST. From the main parking lot, it is the furthest shelter North.
1:00 – 2:00pm – Introductions and sharing of favorite quotes.
2:00 – 3:00pm – A creative group activity, supplies provided.
3:00 – 4:00pm – Free chat time!
For those coming to camp, we have booked sites #3, #4, and #5 to accommodate a large group. There is electric and water available at each site, and bathrooms close by with showers and flush toilets. If each site already has 2 vehicles at it, you will need to move yours to the main parking area after unloading (around .25 mile walk or so). Please bring all you need to care for yourselves in this time. We have paid for all sites in advance, and would be greatly appreciative of donations to reimbursement some of the cost, ~$30 a person should cover everything.
For anyone wanting to come and hang out during camptime and not official meetup time, please message Ruth ahead of time so we can be sure to find each other in the park. Cell service is intermittent at this park. You can definitely find it, but it’s a little better in certain areas – around the park office was best in my memory.
